April Goals

Really, really unrelated to the rest of this post but I felt it was my duty to comment on Justin Timberlake’s new album. I think I’ve said it before but, I’ve loved him from day one of his frosted-tip-baby-face-britney-spears-dating days, and his new album just makes me love him even more. And of course, he has aged like a fine wine. Go ahead, judge me. But in case you were wondering, this is my favorite…

Anyway, moving on, let’s chat about my latest goals.

March goals recap…

1) Give up Diet Coke

I TOTALLY DID IT! Until this past Sunday, the very last day of March, Andrew wanted Five Guys… and if you’ve ever been to Five Guys, you know they have amazing soda machines that let you add any flavor to anything you like. Diet Coke with cherry and vanilla, yes please. Honestly I probably won’t ever just give up Diet Coke forever, it’s just too good, but I’m glad to know I can survive without it.

2) Drink more water

Definitely a good effort here. Every once in a while I would opt for iced tea to make up for the caffeine I’d been missing from Diet Coke but I really made a conscious effort with the water. Another HUGE help to this was sparkling water, specifically La Croix in the coconut flavor. It’s been on sale a lot at Publix, and I have developed an absurd addiction to that stuff.

3) Organize the apartment

Meh, yeah, we did.. I think? We went through cupboards, and packed up extra towels and clothes that we wouldn’t be using in the next month. On a related note, we also started collecting boxes which will soon be filled with all of our belongings. We move in two-ish weeks, yay! Not like I’m counting down the days or anything…

4) Sweat every day

No, this was just.. no. I don’t even want to talk about my fitness routine right now. It’s so, so pathetic. But that slump has got me stressed to the max and not to mention I’m just plain BORED. Give me something new (and free) to try!! Please. I’m begging you.

5) Make two items from my Food Bucket List

Yessss cabbage rolls and lasagna, but I owe you guys recipes for both! Oops my b.

New April goals

1) Floss… Every. Single. Day.

I don’t think this needs much explaining. Flossing is one of my downfalls. It happens weekly, at best. You know why I hate it? Because I have those damn wire retainers glued on the back of my top and bottom front teeth so I have to use “threaders” to even floss those teeth. But I realize how important flossing is and shame on me for not getting serious about it sooner.

2) Get crafty!

You see, when moving to a new apartment, it’s normal to get excited about decorating and all that jazz. But when you’re on a budget like this girl, you have to get crafty and confide in your dear friend, Pinterest. I have a solid list of crafty things to chip through this month and I can’t freakin’ wait. Hoping I remember to document all of these adventures.

3) Yoga, weekly

Repeat goal and I’m not sorry about it. My posture is so bad from sitting at desks and computers all day… and unless you’re totally new to my blog, then you know I’m dragging in a puddle of stress right now. I need to break free, somehow. Somewhere. Over the rainbow. The double rainbow.

4) Sunday food prep

One big thing I’ll miss about my Clinical rotation is free lunch from the cafeteria. I now have to bring my own lunch everyday and, well, anything to make my life easier during the week is welcome. I’m not sure what this entails yet, but I would go ahead and assume there will be a lot of baking chicken, boiling rice/pasta and chopping veggies. The Lean Green Bean inspires me all the time with her food prep posts! I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

5) 50 pushups a day

So if I’m not going to have a workout routine (which I am working on it, trust me, but it’s struggling) then I need to at least work on my guns. Upper body strength is something I’ve never had and what better way to build-up that muscle than pushups, right? I already did my 50 today, and so what if they were the “girly” kind, I still did them. T-shirt time.

What’s a goal you have for April?
